Sunset Off The Coastline

The year I was born The Vietnam war came to an end ‘Time for liberation' That was what some thought it would be Don't remember how How I ended up in this town Still I feel the same as if It's the first day I met you You watched the train come and go From what's left of old town The flower still grows in me I grew up, a bit clued up Got jaded and then faded Believing in our happy ending Like a sunset off the coastline Never cheated We never lied, too We hated before they hated us She was so strong And she was so sad I guess I was the same way Just don't close your eyes Just don't close your eyes This could be my direction You tell me you are doing fine We're just waiting for the answers Wind blowing one direction You tell me you are doing fine We're just waiting for the answers I'm writing down my thoughts Like chasing down something to hold Something to lean on When leaving off the sail You're giving me something to bet on Something to go on And after all I have survived Your cheek is what this morn' reminds It's darkness you cast away That leaves the seed right where you stand As you look into my sentiment Your flower grows
