Uncontrollable pride I held myself so very high See it fall down around me in pieces An unamusing “rosy story” I'm involved in great trouble All my dreams lie in rubble The more I'm trying, the worse it is getting This neverending absurdity Leaving the neon city far behind me now Waiting for scenery that I can never see I'll keep on walking I'll keep on walking That's the slide I once played on Look my poor heart's been burning I've been learning to take it or leave it Before I know, life's completely passed me by Maybe I'll trust and wait for better times to come For seasons warmed and blessed by the autumn sun I'll make it some now I'll make it some now Overhead the sky's still playing at it's games And some people my choose, to go out in the pouring rain That is not for me, still holding my umbrella If I could I'd choose, to take the knocks that fate gives out to us And maybe someday soon I'll have the guts to go and face the rain
